Alex Wilmot-Sitwell joins ‘one of Europe’s most exciting FinTechs’ ahead of launch
London, UK and Zug, Switzerland, 11:00 a.m. on June 27, 2022: Swiss fintech Kashet Group AG announced Alex Wilmot-Sitwell, executive of Perella Weinberg Partners and former European president of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as chairman.
Wilmot-Sitwell brings significant international banking experience to the Kashet team, based in Crypto Valley Switzerland and the City of London.
Founded by Neil Kirk and Chris Jones, Kashet provides a complete set of card payment solutions, domestic and international, offering high quality digital financing to customers and private banks. It aims to create the most trusted regulated service in the world, allowing users to seamlessly transfer currencies between the two environments. The company works with MasterCard and has already obtained FCA E-Money approval ahead of its public launch this year.
Wilmot-Sitwell said, “Kashet is one of Europe’s most exciting fintech companies, creating a trusted environment for seamless digital banking. Focused on creating services that people love to use, this exceptional platform will enable customers to manage their finances more efficiently, while offering opportunities to partner with private banks across Europe who need access to new innovative technological solutions.
Wilmot-Sitwell is currently President of the UK operations of Perella Weinberg Partners. His past experience includes serving as CEO of UBS Asia-Pacific and President of Bank of America EMEA. His knowledge of banking, corporate governance and international affairs will contribute to the company’s ambitious growth plans.
UK co-founder and CEO of Kashet Group AG, Neil Kirk, said: “The globalization of the FinTech market is increasing rapidly. While jurisdictions such as Switzerland and Singapore are leading crypto regulation, the UK is now looking to get more involved in digital currency, which we are excited to see. We are delighted to have Alex join Kashet at this exciting time and look forward to working together to bring this innovative proposition to market.
Co-founder Chris Jones added: “Private banks that provide services to exclusive clients excel in customer service, but can be known to struggle with digital innovation. Kashet will become the technology partner of choice for these institutions and others to deliver an even greater experience.
