Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko met with the management of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, during which he discussed the prospects for the EBRD’s investment in decarbonisation projects in Ukraine.
âThe Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, met the heads of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – EBRD Vice-President Alain Pilloux and EBRD Vice-President for politics and partnerships Mark Bowman. The parties discussed the processes and prospects for the decarbonization of the Ukrainian energy sector, the equitable transformation of coal regions, the development of nuclear and renewable energy â, informs the Ministry of Energy.
As stated, the EBRD supports Ukraine in its efforts to effect a green transition and is ready to invest in specific projects on decarbonization and renewable energies.
As reported, on November 22, Ukraine’s Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko discussed with newly appointed EBRD Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman the prospects for future cooperation.
To date, the EBRD has invested â¬ 15.3 billion in 505 projects in Ukraine. As of August 31, the EBRD’s Ukraine portfolio included 206 active projects.
The EBRD provides loans for projects in the fields of energy, agribusiness, transport, finance, etc.
