The Bank of London will locate its U.S. headquarters for the platform and global services at One Independence Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bank leased 40,000 square feet of Crescent Communities for 11 years. By 2026, the space is expected to accommodate up to 350 employees.

This is the Bank of London’s second US location, with its first office in New York. Launched in November 2021, the bank is also present in London and Belfast. When fully staffed, counties surrounding the Charlotte site can expect an annual impact of $33 million on payroll, according to the bank.

Located at 101 North Tryon Street, One Independence Center was built in 1983 and renovated in 2021, according to data from CommercialEdge. The location is in Charlotte’s central business district, and the office space will have a patio overlooking the intersection of Trade and Tryon streets.
Charlotte is known as a banking and fintech hub, with other financial and fintech companies having a significant footprint in the metro. USAA leased 90,000 square feet in May, and Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs have mixed-use developments underway in the area.
